Truchet pattern generator
Square tiles each holding a quarter turn arc, rotated at random. Individually boring, and together they make winding paths nobody designed.

What are Truchet tiles?
Truchet tiles are square tiles carrying a simple mark, often a pair of quarter-circle arcs, laid down in random rotations. Sebastien Truchet first wrote about them in 1704. Each tile is dull on its own, but together they form winding paths and patterns nobody planned.

How to use the Truchet generator
Each tile is a random quarter arc. On their own they are nothing; together they make winding paths nobody planned.
It is free to generate, tweak, print, and download as many Truchet pages as you like. Every roll gives you a new one, and you can save the ones you love to come back to.
Great for: flowing all-over patterns.
