What is a herringbone pattern?
Herringbone lays rectangles at right angles to each other so they step into a V, over and over. The name comes from the skeleton of a herring, which has the same run of angled bones. You will know it from parquet floors, brick paths and tweed jackets.
How to use the Herringbone generator
The trick is to follow one diagonal run at a time rather than trying to fill it row by row. Alternate two tones along the V and the whole page starts to move in one direction.
