Hypnotic patterns
Woven rings that weave over and under and bulge up off the flat page. The better you color them, the more they lift. It's the design that makes people stop and look twice.

What is op-art?
Op art, short for optical art, is built on precise, repeating geometry that tricks the eye into seeing movement and depth on a flat surface. These woven ring patterns do exactly that. The lines nest and swell so the page seems to bulge toward you, and the effect only gets stronger as you add contrast with color.
How to color op-art patterns
Contrast is everything. Go bold with alcohol markers or press hard with a couple of pencils, keep your lights light and your darks dark, and watch the surface swell like it's being pushed from behind. It's deeply satisfying, and the kind of finished page you'll want to photograph.
Great for: bold color work, a wow-factor finish, and anyone who loves an optical illusion.
